Don't feel bad, he post snipes everyone and takes everything they say
out of context. I can almost guarantee this post will be quoted by him
calling me an anti-PvP nazi or something.

A lot of threads in Sanitarium seem to turn into quoting matches and random arguments that when you think about them really are very stupid.

no no no heavens no. lol PvP is a great option considering restrictive slots available. the advantage of it is the simple fact that once you play a particular build to its inevitable fully unlocked state. you can delete it without worry, because for the most part you can always remake it with the PvP option. I just really value my particular builds. I may hold on to them more then I should... I prize my RP characters as they are well known in the gaming world, and used everywhere as RP characters. And I still enjoy My Tombs play with them... But I do have 1 slot reserved for PvP that I delete and remake all the time as I unlock new stuff with faction... and I use this to try out a multitude of builds. so no in no way am I saying PvP should be eliminated. I encourage people to use it all the time... But I don't want people to believe that the larger part of the game is inferior in some way, just because we took the time to build a RP character to a good PvP team member. Yes that takes tremendous amount of time. heck I still have not pursued my Mes necro build to its max potential, (instead I opted to unlock much of it with faction) so often I do PvP builds with it instead of the RP character. as a result I have not played that RP much, but that's OK cause I am enjoying my 3 other builds plenty.
IMO its good to make a RP character when you are learning a new class. It just is easier to get used to the new skills and techniques in this way. but for those that can intuitively pick this up faster then I or others may, then yes by all means jump right into your new class with a PvP build...

True, the reason I quote people is so that they either know that I'm talking to them or about them, or the statement I made corresponds to the quote.

Don't get me wrong, I like PvE to some extent, but there's no way I'd ever use my PvE character for PvP. Ever. Not even if the character had perfect mods, stats, runes, skills, and what not. I share my account with my twin brother so we don't have much space. I first started out as a monk. He picked warrior. Of course we both made another PvE character, but after we got skills and what not, they were deleted. Having a slot for PvP is just practical. We have two slots, one for me and one for him, and we often discuss builds and what not. We also use eachother's PvE characters. Not that anything I just said has any point, but to finish, PvP characters were meant for PvP. We can make ourselves whatever we want, whenever we want. It's like a kid in a candy store. We can pick any type of candy that we want, but we always have a limit from our parents or money wise. So why not let the kid indulge in something that all the other kids are getting, but he can't? I don't see the harm. If he did enough work to earn that special piece of candy, he should be allowed to get it. We're not saying, hand it to him on a silver plater. It should just be fair for everyone.
Sorry if that was a poor translation of my idea, but it keeps the idea simple.
I still say PvP'ers should be able to unlock 15k armor.

You should be able to unlock it ONLY after you have unlocked it in PvE.

Very Interesting Topic, lol. Here is my take on it.
I dont play PvP, but I know its a totally different world then PvE players like myself. I can see how you want 15k, but I can also see the PvE users getting mad cus PvP player get it too, making PvE users less speical in there way.
What I think, besides the dream of PvP getting there own armor like PvE...is you can Unlock them, maybe like 5k on each part. That way, PvP players can still benifit from Playing there styles, and get the new look.
No names, but get the Idea. Who said anything about Armor being for PvE only? Each have there own playing style, why cant both look nicer?

PvP = Fame Faction
PvE = PvE Armor ( 15k/FoW )

PvE-armor, PvP-Factions, what about adding factions to PvE(fame, probobly something like this in Factions) and Armor for pvP? What is wrong with that?
Quote:
NO WAY
15k armor and FOW armor is the asperation of all PVE players may it never go to the PVP only players

15k armor/FOW is for all palyers to enjoy! Dont see why its only for PvE...

Duh that is why you make PvE??? What the heck, as I said, there are different styles of play. If you hate PvP, like my brother, then dont play that! If you dislike PvE, then you dont have to play. Of course its nice to unlock some skills for PvP play, but raising gold for PvP players in PvE isent fun if you want the armor.
Lets look at it this way. What if there are new weapon skins for PvP and PvP only. wouldent there be the same talk about it with PvE users? PvP players would go "Its only for US! That is why there is PvP... duh."
Well, I didnt read the whole 8 pages, but i got the Idea and wanted to add mine.

This is just my opinion on the matter. PvP Characters already get maxed out weapons and armor with no effort. Asking for 15k armor is a bit unfair to those of us who actually work long and tedious hours earning large amounts of gold and crafting materials to actually get 15k armor. It's something that is made to be earned. I enjoy PvP but in all truth I don't want to see every person running around with 15k armor that wasn't justly earned.

lol, the reason why it looks so plain or ugly is probably because it's standard issue locker-room attire, and you shouldn't focus more on looks in PvP anyway.
Whoops, didn't check the date, thought it was a fairly new thread... *dam thread necromancers* lol

This thread was dead, why did you revive it?
Mant PvPers use PvE chars for PvP...
Many people do PvE only to look good in PvP. When you give it to PvPers for free then all those other people will get pissed.
And yes it is free because you can make 24357268942 different characters and it will only have costed you 1 initial amount of whatever to unlock it.

PvP'ers have fame and competition, PvE'ers have 15k/FoW armor and of course farming.

Why was this Rez?
but actually.. I would say yes.. but keep it where you would require a very high Faction Points. (will act like the FoW dream for PvPers)
But better yet... give PvP it's own set of armor... where it can only be unlock, and not bought.

I would say PvP get 15k armor when we PvE get all access to UW and FOW without PvP intervention. IMO

I say it's fair for the PvE folk to defend their treasures.
But I'm a mix of PvP and PvE. In my opinion, it's fine if you can unlock them by:
1) Making them available at priest of balthazar, by first getting that armor type in PvE mode.
2) Spending the exorbitant amounts of faction to unlock each piece. 10k is fair. This amount spent more or less makes up for the ability to reroll characters with the new armor.
As a side note, a monetary fee to be able to swap an armor between PvE characters on the same account would be a nice touch, just to be fair to the 'PvE only' guys.
So you'd still hafta PvE to get it, but you aren't straight-armed into a PvE character for the whole process. All in all, 50,000 faction & about 100,000g gets you the ability to wear a 15k armor set in PvP.
I think it's a fair compromise. For the 'ultimate unlock' guys, it's a sink of about 1,200,000 faction (and 2,400,000g). Something huge to work towards.

Let go of the strangle hold on Favor, and maybe get some special PvP 15k skin. Not PvE skin and definitely not FoW. PvP has their Fame and their Rank - be happy with what you have.

As a PvPer, I couldn't care less about looks, just stats. Looks + stats is nice, but stats is the only important factor.

On a different slant, if PvP players can wear 15k armour and PvE characters can gain fame, how will the elitist PvP emote flashers be able to discern who's gonna ruin their supermadskilled IWAY team with their noobish PvE skills?

Saying PvPers get rank isn't fair. I have a guild of 25ish PvP'ers, and I don't think there's a single person above rank 3.
Take rank out of the equation, and what do they have to work towards?
I'd like to hear more responses on the compromise. If you can only unlock it after making it in PvE, isn't that fair?
